Veteran actor Satish Shah, best known for his iconic role as Indravadan Sarabhai in the beloved sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, passed away on Saturday at the age of 74. The actor had been battling a prolonged kidney-related illness and breathed his last at 2:30 PM on October 25.

A celebrated name in both Bollywood and television, Shah’s impeccable comic timing made him one of the most loved faces in Indian entertainment. Clips from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai still go viral on social media, a testament to his lasting impact.

Born on June 25, 1951, in Mumbai, Satish Ravilal Shah was of Gujarati origin. He studied at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and married designer Madhu Shah in 1972. His journey began in the early 1980s, and he became a household name with the hit TV show “Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi” (1984), where he played 55 different characters, showcasing his extraordinary versatility.

Satish Shah’s passing marks the end of an era of humor and warmth that defined Indian television and cinema.
