SBI Jobs 2025: State Bank of India to Recruit 3,500 Officers — Apply at sbi.co.in
New Delhi (SBI Jobs): India’s largest public sector bank, the State Bank of India (SBI), has announced a major recruitment drive. Under this initiative, around 3,500 officer-level positions will be filled in the coming months. The move aims to strengthen bank operations and enhance customer service delivery across the country.
This recruitment will primarily focus on Probationary Officers (POs) and Specialist Officers (SOs), with a special emphasis on IT and Cybersecurity roles — two key areas in SBI’s digital transformation strategy.
Expanding Workforce with Focus on Gender Diversity
According to Kishore Kumar Poludasu, SBI’s Deputy Managing Director (HR) and Chief Development Officer, the bank aims to increase the proportion of women employees to 30% over the next five years.
This hiring initiative not only supports SBI’s business growth but also promotes inclusivity and gender balance in the workforce. The bank is implementing several initiatives such as Creche Allowance, Family Connect Programs, and the “Empower Her” mentorship initiative to encourage more women in leadership roles.
SBI Recruitment 2025: Posts to Be Filled
The new hiring plan includes various officer-level positions:

Probationary Officers (POs): SBI recently recruited 505 POs in June and has already advertised 541 additional vacancies. The selection process involves Preliminary and Main Examinations, followed by a Psychometric Test and Interview.

Specialist Officers (SOs): Around 1,300 Specialist Officers have been selected to handle key roles in IT and Cybersecurity domains.

Circle-Based Officers (CBOs): The bank is also planning to recruit approximately 3,000 CBOs within the current financial year.
SBI’s Broader Hiring Plan
In total, SBI has set a target to hire around 18,000 employees during this financial year — most of them for clerical positions, along with a significant number of officer-level roles.
