Nothing Phone 3a Lite Announced — Launching October 29 at a Super Affordable Price
Nothing has officially confirmed the launch of its latest budget smartphone, the Phone 3a Lite, set to debut on October 29. The device will sit just below the Phone 3a in the company’s lineup, offering a new entry point for budget-conscious buyers looking to join the Nothing ecosystem.
Design Teaser Drops on X: “Light Up the Everyday”
The London-based tech company revealed the launch date through a post on X (formerly Twitter), accompanied by a short teaser clip. The video seemingly showcases the back panel of the upcoming 3a Lite, featuring a small LED light — reminiscent of Nothing’s signature Glyph Interface.
However, instead of the elaborate LED strips seen on the higher-end models, the 3a Lite might feature simplified LED elements. The teaser’s caption, “Light up the everyday,” hints that these LEDs could be the phone’s standout design feature.
The official launch will take place at 1 PM GMT (6:30 PM IST) on October 29.
Rumored Specs: MediaTek Dimensity 7300 and 120Hz Display
According to leaks, the Nothing Phone 3a Lite was spotted on Geekbench, running on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. The handset is said to share similarities with the CMF Phone 2 Pro, including a 6.77-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, and a 5,000mAh battery for all-day performance.
It is expected to come in two color options — Black and White, while retaining Nothing’s iconic transparent design language.
Expected Price and Availability
The Phone 3a Lite is positioned to bridge the gap between the Nothing Phone 3a and the CMF lineup. It is likely to be priced around ₹20,000, making it one of the most affordable Nothing smartphones yet.
The phone is expected to be available in at least one configuration — 8GB RAM + 128GB storage.
Nothing’s New Direction: Pre-Installed Apps on Budget Phones
In a surprising move, Nothing recently announced that it will begin pre-installing select third-party apps on its non-flagship devices, including the 3a Lite.
While this marks a shift from the company’s minimalist, bloatware-free philosophy, Nothing clarified that only popular apps — such as Instagram — will be included by default.
Nothing OS 4.0: New “Lock Glimpse” Feature
Alongside the new hardware, Nothing OS 4.0 Beta introduces a Lock Glimpse feature for the Phone 3a series. This feature displays personalized wallpapers based on user preferences. Nothing assures that it will remain off by default, and no personal data will be shared, even if activated.
