🏏 IND vs WI 2nd Test: Jasprit Bumrah Creates History — Joins Dhoni & Kohli’s Elite Club
India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah made history in Delhi during the second Test against the West Indies, becoming the first Indian fast bowler to play 50 matches in all three formats — Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. With this achievement, Bumrah joins an elite list that includes MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, R. Ashwin, and KL Rahul.
This Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, marks Bumrah’s 50th Test match. In his previous 49 Tests, the 31-year-old has bagged 222 wickets, including 15 five-wicket hauls — a testament to his consistency and dominance with the ball.
Bumrah made his ODI and T20I debuts in 2016, followed by his Test debut in 2018. So far, he has played 89 ODIs (149 wickets) and 75 T20Is (96 wickets), along with his 50 Tests — a rare feat for any cricketer, especially a pacer.
With this milestone, Bumrah becomes the 7th Indian cricketer overall to achieve the 50-match mark across all formats — but the first-ever fast bowler to do so.
Meanwhile, on the field, India dominated the opening session, scoring 94 runs for the loss of one wicket. KL Rahul scored 38 before falling, while Yashasvi Jaiswal brought up his half-century early in the second session. By lunch, India were 112/1 in 30 overs, looking strong against the visitors.
