India vs South Africa Final Highlights: Women in Blue Clinch 2025 World Cup with Dominant Win

🏆 India Creates History! Harmanpreet Kaur’s Team Clinches Maiden Women’s World Cup Title

🇮🇳 A Night of Redemption After Years of Heartbreak

Harmanpreet Kaur's Indian women’s cricket team has scripted history! The side has become the first from India to win the Women’s World Cup, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in a thrilling final.

Playing their third World Cup final after the heartbreaks of 2005 and 2017, India finally rose to the occasion in stunning fashion. It was a night of redemption and triumph — the moment Indian women’s cricket had waited decades for.

India’s breakthrough in the 13th edition of the global showpiece made them only the fourth team to win the prestigious trophy, joining Australia (7 titles), England (4), and New Zealand (1) in the pantheon of champions.

💫 India Bury the Ghosts of 2005 & 2017

With this glorious victory, Harmanpreet’s team buried the painful memories of the past and delivered India’s much-awaited world title — a defining moment for women’s cricket in the country.

After posting a massive 298/7 — the second-highest total in tournament history — India’s bowlers held their nerve to bowl out South Africa for 246 in 45.3 overs.

🌟 Deepti and Shafali Shine on India’s Golden Night

South Africa’s chase was anchored by captain Laura Wolvaardt’s brilliant 98-ball 101, but India’s all-round brilliance shone through.
Deepti Sharma (55 & 5/39) and Shafali Verma (87 & 2/36) were the architects of India’s triumph — scripting one of the greatest nights in Indian cricket history.

💪 Deepti, the Workhorse; Shafali, the Spark

Fittingly, India’s victory was shaped by two players from very different journeys.

Deepti Sharma, ever-reliable and composed, ended as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 21 scalps, showcasing her craft and calm under pressure.

Shafali Verma, recalled to the squad after an injury to Pratika Rawal, turned her comeback into a fairytale — blasting 87 off 84 balls and grabbing two crucial wickets.

Her return proved a masterstroke as she and Smriti Mandhana (45) forged a 104-run opening stand, giving India the perfect platform after a rain delay.

🔥 Mandhana’s Record-Breaking Campaign

Though Mandhana missed a half-century, she capped off a stellar tournament — scoring 434 runs at 54.25, the most by any Indian batter in Women’s World Cup history, with one century and two fifties.

Jemimah Rodrigues looked poised for another big knock before a brilliant diving catch by Wolvaardt cut her short.

Even though skipper Harmanpreet Kaur couldn’t deliver the defining innings, her leadership throughout the campaign will be remembered as the foundation of India’s glory.

Proteas Resist, But India Stand Tall

The Proteas started strong with Tazmin Brits (23) and Wolvaardt adding 51 for the opening stand. But a brilliant direct hit from Amanjot Kaur turned the tide.

Soon, Shree Charani’s disciplined spell removed Bosch, and Shafali’s double strike rattled the middle order.

Just when Wolvaardt looked dangerous, Deepti Sharma struck twice in four balls, removing the South African skipper and Chloe Tryon (9) to break the chase’s backbone.

She fittingly ended the game by dismissing Nadine de Klerk for her fifth wicket — sparking scenes of jubilation across the nation.

🥇 India’s Everest Moment

As fireworks lit up the sky, Harmanpreet Kaur lifted the trophy that had eluded India for two decades.
This victory is more than a title — it’s the crowning moment of belief, resilience, and revolution in Indian women’s cricket.

India are the World Champions — at last! 🇮🇳
