PM Modi to Unveil ₹8,140 Crore Development Projects as Uttarakhand Celebrates Its Silver Jubilee

Dehradun, November 9:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Dehradun today to participate in the Silver Jubilee Celebration marking 25 years since the creation of Uttarakhand, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The grand event will commence around 12:30 PM.


Commemorative Stamp & Address to the Nation

During the celebration, the Prime Minister will launch a commemorative postal stamp to mark the state’s remarkable journey and will also address the gathering at the event.


₹8,140 Crore Boost for Uttarakhand’s Development

The programme will witness the inauguration and foundation stone laying of projects worth more than ₹8,140 crores.

  • Projects worth over ₹930 crores will be inaugurated, while new works valued at around ₹7,210 crores will see their foundation stones laid.
    These initiatives will cover key sectors including energy, irrigation, urban development, skill enhancement, sports, technical education, and drinking water.


Support for Farmers

As part of the programme, PM Modi will also transfer ₹62 crores directly to the bank accounts of over 28,000 farmers under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, providing a major boost to the state’s agricultural community.


Key Projects Across the State

Among the projects being inaugurated are:

  • Dehradun Water Supply Coverage for 23 zones under the AMRUT scheme

  • Electrical Substation in Pithoragarh district

  • Solar Power Plants across government buildings

  • AstroTurf Hockey Ground at Haldwani Stadium, Nainital

Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for major hydro-sector projects such as:

  • Song Dam Drinking Water Project – to supply 150 MLD drinking water to Dehradun

  • Jamarani Dam Multipurpose Project, Nainital – designed to provide drinking water, irrigation, and power generation

Other key initiatives include new electrical substations, the establishment of a Women’s Sports College in Champawat, and a modern dairy plant in Nainital.
